Kashmir s lone athletic coach no more

Srinagar: Kashmir’s prominent athletic coach Sheikh Tulal passed away on Friday evening. He was battling a brain tumor and was ailing for almost two years now.  A resident of Safa Kadal in downtown areas of Srinagar, Tulal was posted as Mangar  Indoor Stadium.

DDC Udhampur declares premier league open DDC Udhampur declares premier league open 370 players participating in mega sports event Excelsior Sports Correspondent UDHAMPUR, Jan 9: Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, Udhampur today started the premier league 2020-21 phase-1 in the disciplines of Hockey, Football, Kabaddi and Volleyball, here at Indoor sports Complex, Subash Stadium. District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla was the chief guest and declared the premier league open, while Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan was the special guest. Over 370 players and officials drawn from different Blocks of the District Udhampur took part in the competition. Manager Sports Council, Shaktish Chopra, presented the welcome address on the occasion.

Kabaddi League concludes Excelsior Sports Correspondent RAJOURI, Dec 24: Kabaddi League matches, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council in collaboration with District Associations, concluded at Sports Stadium, here today. Ajmer 7 Stars has qualified for Inter-divisional competitions by beating Palms Club, whereas Rajouri Red also entered Inter-divisional competitions by defeating Rajouri Blue with 4-1 goals. In Football, Nowshera Football Club defeated Thannamandi Club by 3-1 goals. Choudhary Laqayat Ali, Additional SP Rajouri was the chief guest while Yousaf Lone DYSSO Rajouri was the guest of honour. The competition was organised under the overall supervision of Bashir Ahmed Manager Sports Stadium Rajouri.

Jailed PDP youth leader Waheed Para wins DDC election

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said she was proud of her party’s youth leader to register a win. “Couldn’t be prouder of PDP’s @parawahid who won his maiden election by a huge margin of votes. Despite being arrested on baseless charges right after filing his nomination people have shown their love & trust for Waheed. Hope justice prevails,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.
