SRINAGAR: National Conference Vice President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday received a vaccine shot at the Sher-i- Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura in Srinagar.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, Omar Abdullah wrote: “Got my 1st dose of the #COVIDvaccine this morning. It was a smooth & painless affair. I’m grateful to everyone at SKIMS, Srinagar for vaccinating me today.”

Srinagar, April 7 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday at Sheri Kashmir Institute Of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Srinagar.
Omar Abdullah took to Twitter and informed that he has taken the first COVID jab. He thanked the staff at SKIMS for the vaccination. Got my 1st dose of the COVID vaccine this morning. It was a smooth & painless affair. I m grateful to everyone at SKIMS, Srinagar for vaccinating me today, Omar tweeted.

A former close aide of state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he will now face her in the same constituency this election.

“Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at SKIMS, Srinagar. Today my 85-year-old father and my mother had their first COVID jab. My father has a number of health issues including being on immunosuppressants for a kidney transplant. If he can get the vaccine, you should as well,” Dr. Abdullah’s son and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted.
