DCGI approves DRDO-developed anti-Covid oral drug, could reduce supplemental oxygen dependence
Amid a surge in Coronavirus cases, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to release COVID kit for all positive patients in the Union Territory. Drive to the distribution of kits is going to start from Sunday simultaneously from Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively by the concerned Divisional Commissioners.
As per the official Twitter handle of the Department of Information and Public Relations, J&K Government, COVID kit to be distributed amongst all those testing COVID positive in J&K. Distribution begins from tomorrow, May 9, Sunday .

The COVID kit consists of one Pulse Oximeter, 10 tablets of Paracetamol (500 gm), three tablets of Ivermectin (12 mg), five tablets of Azithromycin (500 gm), five tablets of Zinc, 10 tablets of Vitamin C, and four tablets of Vitamin D.
J&K tightens supply of Oxygen to non-COVID patients
As the non-COVID patients are facing hardship due to the non-availability of oxygen, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has devised a procedure to provide hasslefree lifesaving gas to critically ill patients. As per the procedure, family members of the non-COVID patients would be allowed to procure oxygen cylinders or refill gas from a specified plant.
To check black-marketing and hoarding to lifesaving gas amid the oxygen crisis, the Jammu and Kashmir government said it is strictly monitoring the generation and supply of oxygen from private plants across the UT as some unscrupulous have made abortive attempts to get oxygen cylinders from private plants on the pretext of supplying the same to non-COVID patients.

Realizing valuable services being rendered by the employees of the Health and Medical Education amid pandemic, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday approved financial incentives for them, besides many other incentives due to the increasing number of Covid cases in the state.
Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha said that frontline workers of the Health and Medical Education Department, J&K are rendering valuable services in the challenging COVID pandemic times for saving the precious lives of the patients. Although the services rendered by these Covid warriors cannot be compensated, still the UT Government has decided to incentivize their efforts, the Lt Governor said.
Unemployment on decline in J&K
Ten days after constituting a Special Task Force (STF) to identify and scrutinize its own terror friendly employees, the Jammu and Kashmir Government, in a first, issued an order to dismiss a government teacher from service for his involvement in anti-national activities.
According to an order, Idress Jan, a teacher in Government Middle School, Kralpora was dismissed from service under sub-clause (c) of the provision of clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India. Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an inquiry in the case Idrees Jan, Teacher, Government Middle Kralpora, Kupwara , the order reads.
Private sector roped in to ensure supply of oxygen in government hospitals
Taking a serious note of the deaths of four COVID patients, within a span of just two hours, allegedly due to shortage of oxygen in the private hospital, the Jammu and Kashmir Government constituted an inquiry committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education J&K has appointed Divisional Commissioner Jammu as Inquiry Officer to enquire into the circumstances leading to an incident that occurred at Acharaya Shri Chander Colleges of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Jammu on 01.05 2021, wherein some death have been reported allegedly due to shortage of Oxygen , the order reads.
