4.4 quake 2 Jun 6:14 pm (GMT +9)
A magnitude 4.4 earthquake near Hasaki, Chōshi-shi, Chiba, Japan, was reported 30 minutes ago by the United States Geological Survey, considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a moderately shallow depth of 35 km beneath the epicenter early evening on Wednesday 2 June 2021 at 6:14 pm local time. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake as well.
