Former NCDC president Jason Vincent remembered as kind and helpful

BOZRAH On Sunday night, many people from Eastern Connecticut gathered on the grounds of the Bozrah Farmers Market to remember a man important to all of them; former Norwich Community Development Corp. (NCDC) President Jason Vincent. A Celebration of Life for Jason Vincent, complete with speeches, poems, candles and a benediction, was held in his honor. Vincent, who died in December at age 46, was remembered as a genius for his natural talent at planning and thinking ahead for solutions, from his work as a municipal employee for Norwich and Stonington, and as contractor, to proposing a rail project when he was only a teenager to his hometown of Plainfield. He was also remembered as a kind conversationalist who cared about people s problems.

Brewery owners glad to be able to serve just drinks again

“We’re looking forward to fewer restrictions telling us how to run our business,” Miller said. Starting on Saturday, bars, breweries, and other drinking establishments will be allowed to serve drinks on their own outside. Prior to that, customers had to get food before being allowed to drink. Food items varied between places, from snacks like chips or cheese and crackers at Bear Hands Brewing Company in Putnam, to a hotdog at Epicure. Kayla Trant, owner of Bear Hands, said she hasn’t liked the idea of forcing people to buy food in order to drink because many of her customers come just for a causal drink.
