Pittsfield Police Make An Arrest In Monday Night Shooting
Police in Pittsfield responded to two shootings in the city overnight Monday and arrested one suspect who seen shooting from the hood of a car. IBerkshires.com reports that 37-year-old Jesus Lugo, of Pittsfield, was taken into custody after police said he led them on foot chase.
At approximately 8:35 p.m., An Officer with the Pittsfield PD observed a black sedan driving west on Linden Street with a man on top of the hood, and shooting a firearm in the direction of a Linden Street address.
The Officer observed the individual on the hood shoot his weapon five times and immediately initiated a motor vehicle stop. The suspect on the hood fled on foot through the back yards in the area. Multiple units converged in the area to search for him.
The wanted diamantaire has claimed that he was allegedly abducted on May 23 and that the Dominican authorities had a role to play in the abduction. Choksi also claimed his health will deteriorate if kept in custody.
