Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 25 Sri Lankans were arrested by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) for transporting narocotics on two raids which were conducted near the island of Minicoy.
During the first raid which was carried out on 05 March, 06 Sri Lankan nationals were arrested when the ICG inspected a fishing vessel that set sail from Chilaw.
It was also revealed that more than 200 kilograms of heroin were dumped in the sea during the raid.
The second raid which took place on 15 March, had the The second raid was carried out by the Indian Coast Guard on March 15, when the attention of the ICG was drawn to three fishing vessels that had set sail from Tangalle of Sri Lanka.
Police have charged a 29-year-old woman with murder following extensive investigations into a traffic crash in Buderim last year. A 62-year-old Tewantin.

Police lay charges over property offences in Darwin area
Northern Territory Police have charged a youth in relation to a multitude of property offences around Darwin and Palmerston.
The 17-year-old female was arrested in Malak yesterday, for a number of property offences that had occurred between 21 and 31 March 2021.
A search of her person resulted in the recovery of stolen property and the seizure of drugs.
After being taken into custody the youth allegedly attempted to escape from police but was apprehended immediately.

1 x Stealing
2 x Unlawfully possess property
BOSSIER CITY, La. â The Bossier City man who died while in police custody Tuesday ingested drugs and began convulsing before his death, sources close to the investigation tell KTBS.
The type of drug was not immediately known. There was no sign of trauma on the man s body, the sources said.
State police on Wednesday identified the man as 30-year-old Billy Ray Hill.
Troop G spokesman Trooper Brent Hardy confirmed via a news release that Hill died shortly after his arrest by Bossier City police. EMS was called after Hill became unconscious. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hillâs body was sent to Little Rock, Ark., for an autopsy. Hardy said a toxicology panel is part of the autopsy to determine cause of death.

Police arrest three in counter terrorism operation in Melbourne
Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), and other agencies which form part of the Joint Counter Terrorism Team have conducted an operation in Melbourne today.
Police arrested three males and executed two warrants in Epping and Pascoe Vale this morning.
It will be alleged that a 19-year-old Epping man attempted to engage in a terrorist act.
He was interviewed by police in relation to suspected terrorism offences.
A 20-year-old Epping man also remains in custody while a 16-year-old Pascoe Vale youth was released pending further enquiries.
