Traci Collins, the Chief Nursing Officer at Athens-Limestone Hospital, took over as Interim President of the hospital following the resignation of David Pryor.
âThe past year has definitely been a challenging time for not only our hospital, but all healthcare workers across the world,â said Collins. âTo be chosen to lead Athens-Limestone Hospital is an honor and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my community and our patients in this role. I look forward to continuing to champion the excellent quality, service and safety that we deliver to our patientsâ.

Traci Collins will take over after serving in the interim president role.
Collins has more than 30 years of experience in the health care field. She started her career as a nurse and has been a longtime employee in Athens.
In a statement, she said the past year has been challenging for health care, but she looks forward to continuing to serve her community.

Traci has served as Interim President and Chief Nursing Officer since July. A 30-year healthcare veteran, Traci has done an outstanding job leading ALH through the pandemic. Debbie McElyea Blakely passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 surrounded with her family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 1 to 2 with memorial service following at Tanner High School Gymnasium.
Debbie was proceeded in death by her father Carl McElyea of Athens.
Debbie graduated from Clements High School, Calhoun Community College and Athens State College where she received her degree in Physical Education/Special Education.
Coach Blakely began her career at Tanner High School where she led two teams to State Championships and was named “Coach of the Year” each time. She continued her coaching at West Limestone and Ardmore where she won various titles. Debbie was inducted into the Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame. She was Director of JTPA for local youth summer jobs. After retiring from the Limestone County School System she began working as a Unit Director for the Athens Boys & Girls Club.

Central North Alabama Health Services Inc. will host two more drive-up coronavirus clinics before the end of the year.
The testing events, on Dec. 17 and Dec. 31 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., are open to the public. CNAHSI has been working to make the testing accessible to everyone since the pandemic began.
Tests are free for uninsured individuals and no co-payment is required for those with insurance.
Paola Rios, CNAHSI s Marketing and Outreach Coordinator, says they’re seeing twice as many people come out for these clinics recently.
