Richard David Dufty, 55, of Caseville succumbed to injuries he suffered in the Jan. 2 crash along Snowmobile Trail UP 472 (Bobby Gay Truck Trail), in the Hiawatha National Forest, northeast of Trout Lake. Dufty was riding a 2017 Ski-Doo MXZ XRS 800 E-tec snowmobile within a group of six riders traveling west on the trail. Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Mike Olesen and Sgt. Calvin Smith were dispatched to the crash site at 3:35 p.m. EST.

She transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, from complications of COVID-19. Barbara attended North High School, and later she received her cosmetology license. She had been employed as a hair stylist at BJ’s Hair Salon before becoming an independent stylist with her own salon, Nicolette Beauty Salon. She also had a cleaning business that catered to cleaning senior citizens’ homes. She later bought a house big enough to provide elderly care in her home.

Michigan man dies after end-over-end snowmobile crash Updated Jan 12, 2021; ROYAL OAK, MI – A 55-year-old man is dead after crashing his snowmobile into several trees, causing an end-over-end flip that ejected him from the vehicle. Richard David Dufty, of Cassville, succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 8 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Dufty’s death represents the fourth fatal snowmobile crash in Michigan this winter, according to a news release from the Department of Natural Resources. On Jan. 2, Dufty was riding with a group of six, authorities said. They were westbound on Snowmobile Trail UP 472 (Bobby Gay Truck Trail) in the Hiawatha National Forest.
