Nekati, 31, has emerged as one of the leading performers for the national team since making his debut in 2019 and captained the side at the African Nations Championship last year. The right-back was subject of interest from DStv Premiership sides Baroka and Cape Town City but eventually joined Chicken Inn from ZPC Kariba after failing to agree on personal terms. However, his rising career has come to a dramatic standstill since the Covid-19 pandemic halted life and professional football in Zimbabwe.
