Vice Admiral Erick Kagaoan, AFP deputy chief of staff, presided over the donning of ranks ceremony for the promoted colonels and reserve colonels belonging to the Technical and Administrative Service (TAS).
“We honor the distinguished officers who have exemplified our fundamental virtues of patriotism, integrity and service, thereby creating a reputable name for themselves as dependable and competent leaders of our organization,” Kagaoan said in his speech.
The promoted officers were composed of five officers from the AFP Medical Corps; five from the Veterinary Corps; three from the Medical Administrative Corps; nine from the Nurse Corps; five from the Judge Advocate General Service; two from the Corps of Professors; four from the Dental Service; and four from the Chaplain Service.

The Warhawk Nation came together to protect their own Feb. 13, transporting 804 military working dogs indoors in preparation for severe winter weather in the Alamo Region.
The dogs, members of the 341st Military Working Dog Training Squadron, were well taken care of during their time indoors, ensuring their safety and well-being during the harsh conditions.
The week was anything but normal for the hard-working dogs.
“The military working dogs and the Transportation Security Administration working dogs are normally housed in outdoor kennel runs on both JBSA-Lackland and at JBSA-Chapman Training Annex,” said Lt. Col. Matthew Kowalski, squadron commander. “The 341st TRS has the capacity of housing more than 1,200 dogs in our facilities.”

(MENAFN - IANS) p>Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 16 (IANS) The Indian Air Force (IAF), for the first time, inducted the Mudhol Hound, an Indian breed of sight hound from Karnataka, to chase away birds and animals from the runways and reduce risk of bird-hits.
Four Mudhol hound puppies, including two females, were brought to the Agra airbase on Sunday.
These were handed over to the IAF by Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Govind M. Karajol, on behalf of the Canine Research and Information Centre (CRIC) in Bagalkot district of Karnataka.
A senior IAF official said bird-hits are a big problem at several airbases. These hounds will be trained by experts to scare away the birds.
The training of these Karnataka-origin hunting hounds first started in 2016 by the Army’s Remount and Veterinary Corps (RVC) centre in Meerut
