NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – A dramatic three-goal comeback set the stage for an overtime winning goal by Zach Malatesta to give the South Carolina Stingrays (26-20-10-3) a 5-4 win and a two-game sweep of the Indy Fuel (30-21-6-0) at the North Charleston Coliseum on Wednesday night.
Once again it was SC’s captain Andrew Cherniwchan who did the heavy lifting on offense, factoring in on the scoring of all three third period goals to bring his team back from a 4-1 deficit. Cherniwchan scored twice while adding an assist and now leads the team with 19 goals on the year.

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades (34-17-2-2) came out on top 6-5 in overtime Friday night at Hertz Arena, defeating the South Carolina Stingrays (24-19-10-3) on a breakaway goal by their captain John McCarron at 1:08 of the extra session after a wild end to regulation that saw both teams score in the final minute of play.
South Carolina’s captain Andrew Cherniwchan led his team in defeat, scoring twice and adding an assist, while Brett Supinski had a goal and an assist for the second straight game and Mark Cooper picked up two helpers.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A third period breakaway goal by Michael Joly broke a tie halfway through the third period and gave the Orlando Solar Bears (29-21-4-1) a 3-2 decision Monday night, narrowly avoiding a sweep by the South Carolina Stingrays (23-19-9-3) in the teams’ three-game series this week at the Amway Center.
The Rays got goals from forwards Andrew Cherniwchan and Caleb Herbert in the second period, while goaltender Matt Jurusik got the start and turned aside 29 shots for SC in a losing effort.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Six different scorers and 33 saves from goaltender Alex Dubeau propelled the South Carolina Stingrays (22-18-9-3) to their second straight road victory Friday night in a defeat of the Orlando Solar Bears (28-20-4-1) by a score of 6-2 at the Amway Center.
Forward Caleb Herbert led the way with a goal and two assists, while Brett Supinski picked up three assists, and both Matthew Weis (1g, 1a) and captain Andrew Cherniwchan (2a) each had multi-point nights.
