Michaela Blyde sets Black Ferns sevens on their way in first-up win over Australia.
Caleb Clarke has made a successful return to the All Blacks Sevens, making a decent impression in their first-up win over Australia in Auckland on Friday. In the first of six clashes over three days against their trans-Tasman neighbours, the men in black ran out 14-5 winners at the Orakei Domain, with All Blacks winger Clarke getting more game-time than he perhaps imagined following his injection in the 12th minute. That is because the match ended up going more than three minutes overtime, thanks to some late flurries from both sides, who were content to keep playing well after the siren in what was their first match in more than a year, since the Vancouver round of the Covid-19-cancelled 2019-20 World Series.
