Color me shocked, there s a lot of transfer action in a Fred Hoiberg program. While that reflected a poor Nebrasketball program the last couple years, however, this offseason shows some promise for the Huskers.
It was a crowded year for the boys IndyStar Indiana All-Star team. All-Star director Mike Broughton named 14 players to the team, but this was a year where at least another six to 10 players had a strong case to be an Indiana All-Star.
The problem, as always: If you add one, who are you taking off the team? Here are 10 players I thought had a good case who did not make the All-Star team:
Quimari Peterson, Gary West Side: I had Peterson on my list of Indiana All-Stars and it’s fair to wonder if Gary West Side had knocked off Carmel in the Class 4A semistate (a 53-50 overtime loss) if he might have made the team. The 6-1 Peterson, who committed to Indiana State after the season, averaged 14 points and four assists on a balanced team and led the Cougars to a sectional and regional title for the first time in 16 years. He scored more than 1,000 career points. I would bet on Peterson having a quality college career.
