Brown looking to ânew challengeâ after Colchester snub
Former Young Reggae Boy, Jevani Brown.
LONDON â Jevani Brown believes he could have made a more significant impact at Colchester with more opportunities but said it was now time for a ânew challengeâ after being let go by the southeast England club.
The former Young Reggae Boyz attacking midfielder was one of several players, along with Guyana international Callum Harriott, not offered new contracts following the just-concluded season.
Brown, 26, who featured for Jamaica at Under-17 level nearly a decade ago, said while he was disappointed to be leaving Colchester, the two-year spell had been a valuable learning experience.
A LATE equaliser from substitute Tom Beadling secured Barrow a vital draw at Colchester United. Beadling struck home a fine low shot from the edge of the area in the 88th minute to earn a point for the Bluebirds, cancelling out Callum Harriott’s first-half strike, at the JobServe Community Stadium. Barrow started the game one point – and one place – above their hosts in the table but with two games in hand. Bluebirds caretaker boss Rob Kelly named an unchanged line-up for their first-ever visit to the JobServe Community Stadium. Barrow made a solid start and went close in the fifth minute when Scott Quigley’s effort from the edge of the area flew wide.

Colchester United s Callum Harriott has added his voice to the growing calls for social media companies to take greater responsibility for racist abuse posted on their platforms.
This weekend, Manchester United players Axel Tuanzebe and Lauren James became the latest in a long line of players to be targeted by trolls.
In response to the latest two incidents, culture secretary Oliver Dowden tweeted that the government will soon change the law to make social media companies more accountable for posts on their sites.
Colchester winger Harriott, 26, has also been subjected to abuse in the past and believes enough is enough.
