COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Around 1,500 South Carolina veterans received their first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine during a mass vaccination event at Colonial Life Arena Monday.
The Columbia VA Healthcare System partnered with the University of South Carolina to pull the large-scale vaccination clinic together in just one week.
“I basically called up President Caslen middle of last week and said I need your help,” explained Columbia VA CEO David Omura. “Within an hour, he pulled together a full team.”

COLUMBIA, S.C. Heading into tonight’s contest, Ole Miss men’s basketball knew what it needed to do. The Rebels may be in a position to control their own postseason destiny, and tonight’s 81-74 win over South Carolina was another step in the right direction.

As of February 13, Ole Miss currently has a NET ranking of 57 and is looking to improve its resume. With tonight’s win the Rebels now sit seventh in the SEC standings with scheduled contests against State, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Missouri.

Brenda Frese, already a DC sports legend, surpassed former Maryland women’s basketball coach Chris Weller on Sunday for most wins in program history, landing at the nice, round number of 500.
The Terrapins helped their coach reach the milestone by defeating the Nebraska Cornhuskers 95-73 on the road and setting a record for most points ever scored by a team at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
