Half of Triton Knoll OWF Up | Offshore Wind

June 9, 2021, by Adrijana Buljan The 45th wind turbine has been installed at the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm site in the UK, bringing the installation on the 90-turbine project to a halfway mark. According to the latest update from the project, the 857 MW offshore wind farm remains on track to complete offshore construction by the end of the year. Commissioning work will continue through 2021, with final project completion set for early 2022. DEME, using Cadeler’s  Wind Osprey jack-up vessel, installed Triton Knoll’s first Vestas 9.5 MW turbine in January and, a little over a month later, the offshore wind farm produced first power.

Cadeler anticipates 2021 revenue rise

Cadeler has reported an annual revenue of €20m in 2020, compared with €38m in 2019, with an “unprecedented” €310m order backlog positioning it for a 2021 revenue increase of €56-63m. Revenue for 2020 was impacted by upgrades to the fleet which lowered short-term operational capacity, but with the whole fleet again fully operational, Cadeler said it expects a “significantly increased” revenue for 2021. Chief executive Mikkel Gleerup said: “We are operating in a rapidly growing market and by virtue of our successful IPO and subsequent substantial fleet upgrades, Cadeler is poised to deliver strong growth in 2021. “The past year was an unprecedented one in many ways, but our strategic vision and the outstanding efforts of our crew and staff ensures that we are ready to deliver our best-in-class offshore services at a much greater volume.”

Siemens Gamesa selects IJmuiden hub for HKZ logistics

Siemens Gamesa has chosen DHSS’s offshore logistics terminal in Port of IJmuiden as the marshalling, storage and logistics facility for the 1500MW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm zone off the Netherlands. The hub will be used during the commissioning phase of the 140 Siemens Gamesa 11MW-200 DD turbines, which will be installed at the wind farm zone. Load-outs of the turbines from the Sif terminal at Rotterdam Maasvlakte will be taken care of by Cadeler’s installation vessel Wind Osprey, while the commissioning team of Siemens Gamesa will operate from DHSS‘s logistics hub in IJmuiden. The hub is located next door to the project s newly built operations and maintenance base for the Vattenfall project.
