After two full days of events, Sunday rounded up Carlton Daze with the annual parade at 1 p.m. along Minnesota Highway 210. Through Friday and Saturday, the community celebration consisted of several tournaments and contests, a car show and live music.
Organizer Daisy Rose called the weekend a “huge success.”
“We were hoping for some good crowds and good participation, and we’ve seen that. It’s awesome,” Rose said. “It’s nice that we’ve been able to come back like this.”

Margaret Louise (Wigg) Lindevig
In a farmhouse south of Carlton, MN, Margaret Louise was born to Jesse and Jennie Wigg, on March 21, 1921. Over the next 100 years Margaret would rise up as a true example of grit, stamina and strength gained through adversity. Though Margaret lived her last 50 years in Duluth, she enjoyed weekly drives to her childhood neighborhood, recalling the beginning of many lifelong friendships and the warmth of country gatherings while growing up. On June 21, 2021, she finally bowed to God’s final call to come to her Heavenly home in Glory.
Some years after graduating from Carlton High School, Margaret met her future husband, Irvin, who had just returned from service in World War II. They were married on May 22, 1948 and experienced 52 years of trust and devotion, until Irvin’s death in 2001.
