It’s Not Only About Changing Governments… By Carlton Ishmael In the private sector, you cannot tell an institution how to run their business, but when it comes to Government-run institutions, we can recommend that certain changes be made. After all, most are established through us paying taxes or from loans or grants negotiated on our behalf. Frequently the talk is about constitutional reform, the realignment of certain constituencies, or the need to re-determine the role of our ministers, or the need to recall or demand accountability. Granted, all these reforms are necessary, but I also think that we have to start with the institutions, or established ministries, to become more efficient and productive.

May 1, 2021 By Carlton Ishmael I try my best to make sense of what I read and listen to these days, as it is becoming more difficult to determine fact from promises and believing all that you hear. Some say what they want you to hear, some make promises that seem too good to be true. On one hand, you hear party members boasting about their previous achievements and you are reminded of all the good that they have done for us, as well as all they still promise to do. On the other hand you hear from those opposite, all that was done wrong, or badly built and in some cases, where there was wasted resources, or money.

By Carlton Ishmael POWER has always remained in the hands of three segments: those with the guns and ammunition, those with the money to control the economy, and those who control the workings of the law. To this day nothing have changed and it is still the same grouping with the power. As for those with guns (legal or not), they can still terrorize and frighten the living hell out of inhabitants. They also govern by their own rules. As for those with the money, regardless of how they obtain it, they dictate, bargain, manipulate, scheme, swindle and call the shots so they either turn a blind eye, or facilitate the system.
