Iâm in psychiatric nursing and some experiences I have had while on supernumerary clinical placement, I very much was working. I was once on a placement living away from home. The shifts were close to 13 hours long. We had an elderly man who was dying. He had no family. I sat with him and held his hand. It was so busy and we were short staffed so I was called away to do another job. (This is work, not education). I couldnât stop crying. The team were brilliant and comforted me.
