After over a year off the road due to the Covid-19 pandemic, George Clinton and the Parliament-Funkadelic have announced their live return with a pair of East Coast shows this June.
The venerable funk collective will first perform a full-capacity gig at New Haven, Connecticut’s College Street Music Hall on June 25th before opening Blue Note Jazz Festival with a June 27th show at New York City’s Central Park SummerStage.
Clinton said in an effusive statement, “Face to face, the funk at your back, y’all better get ready cause the Mothership is taking off for 2021 and we are about to land in your town and TEAR THE ROOF OFF THIS SUCKA. I’m ready, the band is ready, are you ready? LET’S GO!”

Yonder Mountain String Band, Twiddle, Keller & The Keels and
The Motet are among other 4848 Festival performers. Greensky Bluegrass will play two nights of the festival.

Event organizers will go with a limited capacity for the on-sale to follow current state guidelines. Previously purchased tickets and room packages will be honored this September. Additional 2021 tickets and room packages go on sale this Friday, May 21 at 10 a.m. ET via the festival’s website and Eventbrite (GA/VIP).
4848 Festival made its debut in 2019. Last year’s festival was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic.

SliceFest is coming back to Birmingham this year, and will offer its usual crowd-pleasing lineup of bands, beer and pizza on Oct. 2.
One music act has been announced JJ Grey and Mofro and advance tickets are on sale via the festival website. Prices are $35 general admission, $150 VIP. (VIP tickets include access to a separate lounge, restrooms and bar; plus catered food and a live music feed from the stage.)
Colorado-based band
Tenth Mountain Division is pushing the sound found in the mountains in bold new directions with their high-energy electro-acoustic sound. With Producer Tim Carbone (Railroad Earth) at the helm, the band recorded their third studio album,
Butte La Rose, with engineer Todd Divel (Hard Working Americans, Fruition) at Silo Sound Studio.
Tenth Mountain Division is built upon the long-friendship of mandolinist Winston Heuga and guitarist MJ Ouimette. The two first met and started playing music together in high school, eventually landing at the University of Colorado in Boulder together where they formed Tenth Mountain Division as an acoustic trio. Over the next few years they added drummer Tyler Gwynn and keyboardist Campbell Thomas.
