SSEN is undergrounding some of the overhead power lines in Bishop s Waltham. The £150,000 programme in the South Downs National Park is underway across land on Franklin, Dean and St Clair’s Farms. Over the course of the summer, the energy provider will excavate just over one kilometre of the farms’ land to replace the existing poles and cables with modern, robust underground cabling. Work will also also remove the necessity to carry out future tree-cutting works on the vegetation that lines the nearby bridleway.
