IT is known for its vibrancy and as a place where independent businesses can thrive. With boutique shops, long-running family stores, cafes and popular bars and restaurants, Stockton Heath is usually a bustling place for shopping and socialising. But the ongoing coronavirus crisis and sustained periods of lockdown paint a very different picture of the village. And while the Prime Minister’s ‘road map’ out of pandemic restrictions offers some hope, there is a sense among some traders that optimism is one thing but surviving day-to-day is another. “For the independents, it’s a nightmare,” said Peter Wharfe, who has run family business All That Jazz for 30 years.

Gympie artist to showcase in prestigious New York exhibition

FROM the Gympie Regional Gallery straight to Manhattan, Gympie artist Danny Bickmore is reaching new heights as one of several artists chosen worldwide to exhibit in the New York Outsider Art Fair. The visual artist has been a major contributor to Gympie’s art scene for more than two decades as part of Gympie gallery’s Community Futures Project that supports artists with significant challenges and disabilities. Lotus to open all-new showroom in Bahrain in 2021 MANAMA, January 20, 2021 Lotus, an iconic British sports car company, is marking the start of the new year with its return to the Bahrain automotive landscape after almost a decade away, and with a new retail partner.   Development of a completely new showroom is underway in the exclusive Moda Mall shopping complex. It will be operated by Adamas Bahrain Motors Company, a highly respected business with a wealth of experience in selling performance, premium and luxury cars across the Middle East and Asia.   Taking centre stage when the showroom opens in late spring will be the critically acclaimed Lotus Evora GT, a car which has won universal praise from motoring media in the USA where a near-identical model is on sale. Also available will be the Lotus Exige 20th Anniversary special edition, which features an enhanced specification over the standard Exige.
