Heaviest snow nearing Staten Island: Forecaster details new timeline

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. If you think the storm isn’t so bad so far, just wait and see the heaviest snow is on its way, forecasters say.
After flakes started falling at around 2 p.m., heavy snow is expected to hit Staten Island starting at about 6 p.m. and last until approximately midnight, said Carl Erickson, senior meteorologist at AccuWeather.
“[The storm] hasn’t picked up yet, but it will very shortly, at least within the hour if not sooner,” Erickson said. “The first half of the night is when you are going to have some heavy snow.”
