DENVER (AP) Germán Márquez figured his day was done when he spotted his manager approaching in the dugout.
Didn t surprise him.
Now that caught the Colorado right-hander by complete surprise.

A very emotional moment, Márquez said through a translator of being an All-Star. Very grateful.
The fans showed their appreciation with a standing ovation for Márquez late in the game.

Good Kyle Freeland came to the yard today and turned in a gem of a performance with six shutout innings before handing things to the bullpen. The offense struggled until a bomb of a three-run homer by Trevor Story that turned out to be the difference in the 3-2 win for the Colorado Rockies.
Strong starting pitching continues
The Rockies’ starting pitchers have taken a liking to pitching at Coors Field and Kyle Freeland continued that trend tonight. Freeland worked with pace and had full confidence in his stuff this evening. He was throwing strikes and trusting his defense to make plays behind him and they delivered.
