TORONTO When you scan the crowd of a baseball game at Rogers Centre, you see jersey numbers that define eras of Blue Jays baseball.
There are plenty of No. 19 and No. 20 jerseys for José Bautista and Josh Donaldson, with the postseason runs of 2015 and ‘16 still fresh, while Roy Halladay’s No. 32 and Roberto Alomar’s No. 12 the only two numbers retired by the organization remain a staple.
As the next generation of Blue Jays stars begin to lay claim to their own numbers and climb the ranks of franchise greats before them, here is a look back through club history at the best player to wear each:

MANSFIELD, CT A Mansfield man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for drug trafficking and gun offenses, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Carlos Delgado, aka Los, 51, will also serve five years of supervised release.
In 2018, law enforcement targeted an eastern Connecticut drug trafficking organization that prosecutors said Delgado led. Dantheman:
While they are clearly not landing LeMahieu, and Springer, and Castillo, or Snell, it is entirely conceivable for them to land one. Given how much cash they have to spend now, as well as how much is coming off the books next season, I would be surprised if they didn’t sign one. And with the Jay’s good financial shape, and the Yankee’s not so good financial shape, I see LeMahieu as the one they do sign.

I agree that the Blue Jays are in good shape financially, but we cannot overlook their history of spending. They spent 80M for Ryu last year. They are not going to spend over 100M for LeMahieu. With respect to Springer, there is another NY team, the Mets. Castillo is interesting, but are they going to give up the top prospects? I don’t think so. Would Rays trade with Blue Jays for Snell? I don’t think so.
