Divers search for missing crew members in Gulf
Divers searching for 12 missing mariners in the Gulf of Mexico Thursday knocked on the hull of a capsized vessel without hearing a response, the Coast Guard said.
Dive operations are scheduled to resume Friday, officials said. Meanwhile, search operations will continue overnight using boats and aircraft.
The search continued Thursday for a dozen missing crew members after an oilfield boat capsized two days earlier in the Gulf of Mexico 8 miles south of Port Fourchon.
So far six people have been rescued and one has been confirmed dead.
A Coast Guard spokesman said Thursday a diving operation was being planned to find the 12 missing mariners.
