Parkdean Resorts in Cornwall shows Eden Project in world without bees

Shocking images give us a glimpse of what a Cornish beauty spot could look like without our pollinator friends. A series of pictures commissioned by Parkdean Resorts, have revealed what Cornwall-based attraction, The Eden Project, could look like in a world without bees. The images, which are a visualisation created by Parkdean Resorts, show a stark contrast between life with and without the pollinators that have steadily been in decline since the 1980s. In the images, the lush vibrancy that The Eden Project is known for is gone and is replaced with a barren, desert-like wasteland, reminiscent of the images sent back by NASA s rovers on Mars.

Fishery innovations that drive ocean biodiversity research | Marine Stewardship Council

May 20, 2021 From mapping seabed floors for vulnerable habitats to trialling innovative wildlife bycatch reduction devices, fisheries play a key role in collecting data that can better protect marine biodiversity. We highlight the achievements of sustainable fisheries that are driving real change in our oceans. Australian Northern Prawn Fishery vessel © Dylan Skinns / Austral Fishing is one of the key contributors of biodiversity loss in our oceans, from depleted stocks through overfishing to species caught as bycatch. Fisheries around the world face these challenges every day while working hard to feed us and support livelihoods and families. But collaborations between scientists, governments and the fishing industry are delivering innovative solutions to mitigate impacts and drive reform.
