Two-way traffic lights will be in operation on Cornwall Road in order for roadworks to be safely carried out today and tomorrow. Wessex Water say the works on Cornwall Road, which will take place near to the junction for Albert Road, are to install new connections to their supply network. A spokesman added the maintenance could be completed in one day and traffic lights will be removed if the works are finished before Friday. He said: “We will be in Cornwall Road on Thursday, June 17 to install a new connection, with temporary traffic lights in use for up to two days to allow this to happen quickly and safely.

Former Bexhill army cadet leaders Dennis Bowie and Alice McElhinney have been jailed for sexual abuse AN ARMY cadet leader sexually abused a girl in his troop after a Remembrance Sunday event marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. Lieutenant Dennis Bowie groomed the girl while he was a detachment commander of the army cadets in Bexhill. The married 49-year-old was in cahoots with Sergeant Alice McElhinney, 33, where they groomed the cadets and shared their perverted fantasies with one another. At Lewes Crown Court it was revealed Bowie had groped and kissed a 14-year-old girl.
