After a search that spanned three counties, a Cortland man who had been wanted by law enforcement was taken into custody Friday by New York State Police.
Police had been looking for Matthew O. Perry, 32, since Thursday in connection with criminal contempt and aggravated family offense charges. He was arrested shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, and troopers charged him with a felony count reckless endangerment.
The chase-turned-manhunt began when Perry allegedly eluded police in a vehicle pursuit that began in Cortland County, then entered Broome before being called off, according to troopers. Later, a state trooper spotted Perry in Tioga County, but was unable to catch him.
