The powerhouse behind Cork Penny Dinners, Caitriona Twomey, has been unveiled as one of the winners of the Credit Union s Reward Your Hero initiative.
Established to recognise the heroic efforts of individuals across the country during 2020, the initiative sought nominations from the public for three people who had shown inspirational courage, selflessness or kindness during 2020 . As part of our Christmas season we wanted to recognise the heroes of 2020. In what has been a turbulent year of suffering, illness and loss for many, it has also shone a light on the everyday heroes in our society, said Paul Bailey of the Irish League of Credit Unions.
