Given all the changes the decline in print newspapers across the country, our corporate ownership changing to Gannett and the USA TODAY Network, the sale of our building on Twin View Boulevard in Redding it’s natural that many readers had questions about the folks reporting and writing their local news. So are the reporters local? The answer is a resounding “yes”: The Record Searchlight newsroom, as of this writing in March 2021, employs 10 journalists, and all of us live in Shasta County. Between us, we have 227 years of experience in journalism and 139 years of combined service at the Record Searchlight.
