Hong Kong-based maritime tech company Wallem Group has announced the resignation of Chief Executive Frank Coles so he can focus his efforts on seafarers’ rights and welfare amid the ongoing crew change crisis.
“As many will be aware Frank has been very active in highlighting the plight of seafarers during the Covid-19 pandemic and now wishes to become more involved in promoting their welfare, as well as pursuing other opportunities,” Wallem Group said in a statement.
Coles joined Wallem Group as its CEO in October 2018 after a career in maritime law, shipping services and maritime communications. He notably served as President of Inmarsat Maritime from early 2012 before splitting with the company in 2014 just as it started launching its next-generation GX satellites.
