Novatek pens LNG supply deal with China s Zhejiang Energy
Russian LNG exporter Novatek announced on June 2 it had signed a heads of agreement (HoA) with China s Zhejiang Energy to deliver up to 1mn metric tons/year of LNG from its Arctic LNG-2 project.
The proposed contract has a 15-year term and covers supplies on a delivered ex-ship basis to Zhejiang s LNG terminals in China, providing feedstock for the company s new gas-fired power plants. The HoA builds on a memorandum of understanding signed by Novatek and Zhejiang in October 2019.

Wartsila to provide radio, navigation tech for Arctic LNGCs
Finnish technology firm Wartsila has signed a contract to provide technology in radio and integrated navigation systems for 10 ice-breaking LNG carriers (LNGCs) that will handle gas from Novatek s Arctic LNG-2 export project, due online in 2023.
The order was placed in January, Wartsila said on April 19, and is being executed in partnership with South Korea s Samsung Heavy Industries. It builds on an order Wartsila secured last summer to equip five LNGCs with integrated bridge systems. The additional 10 tankers would be fitted with the same Wartsila Navi-Radar, Navi-Sailor and Navi-Conning solutions.
