Nottinghamshire County Council is set to invest in a new start-up energy company.
At a meeting yesterday (Wednesday, December 9) councillors unanimously approved an initial £20,000 in consultancy to a new company Ââ Cheesecake Energy Ltd.

It comes after government inspectors were called in to Nottingham City Council over the £38m losses suffered from the collapse of Robin Hood Energy.
However, rather than being an electricity provider, as Robin Hood Energy was, this firm aims to pioneer a world first in energy storage.
That energy will then be used to power electric vehicles, operated by the county council-owned Via Limited, which carries out roads maintenance in Nottinghamshire.
