NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - After several days of chilly temperatures ans sunny skies, changes are on the way as we head into the end of the week and weekend. Temps will be a tad warmer today near 60°, then even warmer Thursday near 72°. Clouds will build Thursday but stay dry as warmer air from the south moves in.
FRIDAY FUTURE OUTLOOK: After several dry days, rain chances will be on the rise Friday. No flooding or severe weather but passing showers that will linger into Saturday as the front slows along the coast. The Washington University in St. Louis community is invited to an online discussion exploring a new proposal aimed at creating more jobs in the St. Louis region during the coming decade.
The STL 2030 Jobs Plan, currently in draft form, focuses on inclusive growth throughout the St. Louis region. It was compiled after international economic development expert Bruce Katz conducted extensive research and interviews. The draft plan calls for the St. Louis metropolitan community to make a commitment to create more high-quality job opportunities while also ensuring all residents have access to those opportunities.
Community, civic, nonprofit and economic leaders including various members of the Washington University community served on committees to help develop the data-driven plan. Now, leaders seek input from across the university during an online discussion from noon-1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Our cold front has pushes through the area bringing the rain chances to an end. Skies will stay cloudy with a few sunny breaks before sundown. Temps will be a bit cooler as the day progresses. Winds will increase from the north and stay gusty through the afternoon and this evening. Gusts could be up to 30 mph by the afternoon hours. Afternoon temperatures will be in the 60s.
Bruce: From a few mild to warm days, we get back to reality. Behind the front lows will dip into the mid 30s north and 40s south. Rain is ending as you trade in the short sleeves for the sweaters and jackets.
