City of Grand Haven moves forward on housing accessibility

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. â The City of Grand Haven and partner organization Housing Next have been working to reduce barriers to the creation of housing at all price points, according to a news release Thursday.
Recent updates have been made to the zoning ordinance, which was approved by the Grand Haven City Council earlier this month.
The goal of the new ordinance is to improve housing choice and supply across the city, promote greater mobility choices for residents, provide more equitable access to wealth creation and streamline the zoning approval process for developers.

1 seriously injured in Ottawa County crash

WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. â One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after a one-car crash Friday afternoon in Ottawa County.
It happened on 16
th Avenue near Comstock Street in Wright Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriffâs Office.
An investigation at the scene showed that a 29-year-old Conklin resident was northwest bound on 16
th just north of Comstock, trying to get through a curve in the road.
The man lost control, leaving the roadway and overturning his vehicle.
The driver was transported to Butterworth Hospital.
