Kalamazoo officers train to rescue people dangling off buildings: ‘We’re like an insurance policy’ Updated Apr 29, 2021; KALAMAZOO, MI – Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers dangled from ropes, suspended five stories in the air in the city’s downtown during a training Thursday. The department’s Technical Rescue Team used the Rose Street parking garage in downtown Kalamazoo on April 29 to practice rescuing people while providing medical care, hooking people dangling in the air into their rope system and more.
