In this issue: A brilliantly entertaining account both funny and serious of cycling across five continents, an exhaustive (and exhausting) description of an expat summer in Galicia, and a diverting compendium of travel puzzles and quizzes.

The round-the-world journey by bicycle that gave rise to this splendid account can justly be described as epic, though the author would avoid any such boastful epithet. At age 29, after practicing medicine for a couple of years in the emergency department of a London hospital, the author self-diagnoses a case of
Sehnsucht, which translates as yearning for ideal alternative experiences. He later uses another word new to me which could be construed in the same way: dromomania is a psychiatric diagnosis (no longer current) of wanderlust, desire for frequent traveling. (Perhaps we are all psychologically suffering from this at the moment!)
Indigenous Cacataibo of Peru threatened by land grabbing and drug trade
The Santa Martha Indigenous territory is one of the nine Indigenous Cacataibo communities between Huánuco and Ucayali in Peru.
Increasing numbers of outsiders are invading the territory and deforesting large swaths of Indigenous land, largely to grow coca which is used to make cocaine.
Residents report they are often subject to intimidation, threats and even murder attempts if they speak out about the incursions.
Already under-monitored due to their remoteness, these areas have gotten even less government attention during the COVID-19 pandemic due to movement restrictions put in place to reduce the infection rate.

National signing day 2020: Meet the Oregon Ducks 2021 football recruiting class

EUGENE ― Oregon signed 20 players to its 2021 recruiting class, the best in program history.
The Ducks’ class is ranked atop the Pac-12 for the third straight year and No. 6 nationally in the 247Sports Composite.
Four offensive linemen, a trio of heralded receivers, three outside linebackers, pairs of tight ends, safeties and cornerbacks and an inside linebacker, defensive tackle, quarterback and running back made up the class, which has room to add between now and February’s signing period.

Lima Land Inc. will develop over 100 hectares of its existing 700-hectare property in the next two years to accommodate more industrial locators for its Lima Estate where new locators are expected to generate 20,000 jobs in Batangas and neighboring provinces.
In a statement, Lima Land of the Aboitiz Group said the development of the 100 hectares is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2022.
Additionally, its 30-hectare business district will further be transformed to house new commercial lots, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies, office buildings, dormitories, schools, hospitals, hotels, and civic centers in addition to existing components such as The Outlets at Lipa, LIMA Exchange, and LIMA Park Hotel.
