MQM-P gives protest call against poor performance of Sindh Govt   Published On 07 June,2021 04:42 am MQM-P will organize protest rally in Karachi on June 15 against poor performance of Sindh government KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has given a protest call against poor performance of Sindh government in urban areas of Sindh, Dunya News reported on Sunday. According to sources, the MQM-P will organize a protest rally in Karachi on June 15 against poor performance of Sindh government. The protest rally will start from Civic Centre and culminate at the Press Club. MQM sources said that the purpose of holding the protest rally is to draw the attention of the provincial government towards the solution of water crisis and public problems in urban areas of Sindh including Karachi.

Resolution passed in PA against denial of due water share to Sindh

Karachi May 25, 2021 The Provincial Assembly of Sindh passed a resolution on Monday to condemn the “unwelcome situation of the province constantly being denied its due share of water as enshrined in the 1991 Water Accord”. The resolution was moved by Sindh Irrigation Minister Sohail Anwar Khan Siyal. He said on the occasion that the province is being treated unfairly since 2003. He pointed out that Punjab has to bear with only nine per cent shortage of irrigation water, while this shortfall has increased to 44 per cent in the case of Sindh. Siyal said that Sindh has not been demanding anything from the share of the other provinces, and that it only wants to be provided with water in accordance with its due share. He said that hundreds of thousands of acres of land in Sindh has become submerged due to the unwelcome phenomenon of seawater intrusion. While addressing a press conference on Saturday, Sindh s irrigation minister Sohail Anwar Siyal said that the PPP will stage the protest under the leadership of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Dawn reported. Strongly criticising Punjab province, led by Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) Usman Buzdar, for opening link canals and thus causing an acute shortage of irrigation water in Sindh, Siyal asserted that the party will also move a resolution over the constant theft of Sindh s water.
