Administered by the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., voluntary vaccination has begun for IT&Eâs employees to prevent the spread of the virus. As providers of an essential service, IT&E cares about the health and well-being of the community. It recognizes the importance of doing its part to help bring an end to the global pandemic. IT&E hopes that the example will give courage to those who are hesitant to take the vaccine. Ruth May Namey, 62, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 13, 1958, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruth May Hoover Namey. She graduated from Elmer L. Meyers High School and received her medical training at Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter, Fla.
Ruth May was employed as a phlebotomist for over 25 years at Commonwealth Health, formerly Pittston Medical Associates. She was also employed for over 20 years at Kingâs College dining services.
She is survived by her sisters, Susan Broody and husband, Michael; and Terri Zimmerman and husband, Jeffery; nephew, Robert Zimmerman and wife, Kristina; and beloved great nephew, Jack Zimmerman.

WILKES-BARRE Tom Foley, Director of PA 211 NE at Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, this week said the November results reflect the seasonality of the needs of callers.
“You will note an uptick in need for holiday gifts/toys,” Foley said. “The upcoming cold and holiday needs are at the top of mind for families in need.”
