Greensill Capital knew eight months ago that its insurers were baulking at renewing some $4.6 billion in policies and was unable to get new insurers to cover the packaged invoices it sells to investment funds, an Australian court judgement has revealed.
The lapsing of insurance policies held by Australian billionaire Lex Greensillâs firm on Monday is one of the reasons Credit Suisse froze four funds containing securities put together by the Australian-owned supply chain firm.

Pet adoption rates have skyrocketed during Covid-19 but the most popular names for cats and dogs remain largely the same.
Luna has topped the charts for the third year in a row as the favourite moniker for furry friends.
The name was ranked number one for cats and dogs according to Melbourne s Lost Dogs Home, while Pet Insurance Australia ranked Luna in first place for female canines and felines, and Archie as the most popular for male counterparts.
