Resident Evil Village Final Demo Now Available To Preload
Starting today, the final preview for
Resident Evil Village is available to preload on consoles (current and last-gen) and PC, giving those who participate the opportunity to get just a taste of Ethan Winters’ new nightmare. Similar to the demos released exclusively for owners of Sony’s platform, this version will have a hard time limit baked in to ensure that players are left wanting more, with the clock primed to start ticking as soon as the sequel’s titular setting comes into view.
Do note, however, that unlike previous trials, this one will grant entry for 60 minutes rather than the usual 30 and not be limited to a 24-hour download period. Indeed, you’ve got until two days
Resident Evil Village ESRB Rating Teases Lots Of Gore
Resident Evil Village is going to be chock-full of gnarly, grimace-inducing moments.
The survival horror sequel, which sees hero Ethan Winters yet again embroiled in a nightmare scenario populated with monsters, has recently received its official rating from the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB), in turn revealing several new morsels of information previously unknown. Chief among these are detailed descriptions of various acts of violence depicted on screen, including one instance of a character’s heart being “ripped out of their chest.”
Others involve enemies being mutilated by machetes and a scene where an unnamed individual is impaled through the chest by a “giant weapon.” In a general sense, dismemberments, decapitations and large bloodstains/entrails around the game’s environments are also present as gloriously gruesome set decoration.
Upcoming Resident Evil Village Demo Duration Extended By One Week
Resident Evil Village‘s pre-release demos has certainly been a learning experience.
Earlier this month, the developer confirmed via a special showcase that it would be rolling out not one, not two, but three distinctly different trials for the survival horror sequel, all with varying exclusivity periods and durations. Two of these, aptly named
Village and
Castle, have since concluded and were available only for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners, while the third and final, originally scheduled to be accessible for 24 hours, was to take place this weekend.
Fortunately for Xbox and PC gamers, this event is still intended to go ahead and now for a considerably larger window. Starting May 1st, a full 60-minute, multi-platform demo will be free to download for roughly a week, ending on May 9th, two days

Now that fans have been able to get their first taste of
Resident Evil Village thanks to a number of demos held over the weekend, the sequel’s obvious source of inspiration has become clearer than ever before.
We’ve known for some time, of course, that the team responsible for bringing Ethan Winters’ next adventure to life were heavily influenced by the series’ landmark fourth entry when creating
Village‘s environments and gameplay systems, and while this year’s installment might not feature the same over-the-shoulder third-person perspective as its spiritual predecessor, everything else screams
