Works by Lee win top honors in two exhibitions

Boise State News April 1, 2021 Two pieces by Lily Lee, an associate professor in the Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies, will appear in the exhibition: Octogonal: The All Media Show at the Octagon Center for the Arts in Ames, Iowa. Juror Jenie Gao chose 41 works from 349 submissions by 134 artists. Gao also selected one of Lee’s works, “Iridescent Turkey Sticker on the Outside” for the Priscilla Sage Fiber Award sponsored by Haila Architecture, Structure and Planning. A Shroud for Ermelinda Garza. Carrie Quinney photo. Juror Tamara Kostianovsky chose two works by Lee for the virtual Fibers Exhibition hosted by the In Art Gallery. Lee’s piece “A Shroud for Ermelinda Garza” won the exhibition’s first place award.

UBCO Prof Matt Rader together students present work during Zoom reading

by Contributor on Tuesday March 16 2021 A teacher of writing from UBC Okanagan together with five students from Selkirk College’s creative writing classes will read from their work on Wed., March 24 at the fourth Zoom reading in the 2020-21 author reading series presented by Nelson, B.C.’s Oxygen Art Centre. Featured will be Kelowna author Matt Rader and Selkirk students Sarah Beauchamp, Carina Costom, Tressa Ford, Bre Harwood and Meredith MacDonald. The event begins at 7 p.m. Those interested in attending need to R.S.V.P. by emailing info@oxygenartcentre.org to receive the Zoom link and accompanying event information.
