EU 2020/21 soft wheat exports 24.46mln tonnes by May 30
Soft wheat exports from the European Union in the 2020/21 season that started last July had reached 24.46 million tonnes by May 30, data published by the European Commission showed.
That was down from 32.68 million tonnes cleared by the same week last season, the data showed.
The publication of the weekly data had been delayed from Monday due to a technical issue.
EU 2020/21 barley exports had reached 7.01 million tonnes, against 7.03 million a year ago, while EU 2020/21 maize imports stood at 13.34 million tonnes, down from 18.66 million.
Since Jan. 1, the European Commission’s data has covered the EU’s 27 countries only, whereas previous figures up to Dec. 31 covered both the EU-27 and Britain.

European Union soybean imports in the 2020/21 season that started last July had reached 13.17 million tonnes by May 16, data published by the European Commission showed.
That compared with 13.10 million tonnes cleared by the same week last season, the data showed.
Since Jan. 1, the European Commission’s data has covered the EU’s 27 countries only, whereas previous figures up to Dec. 31 covered both the EU-27 and Britain.
EU rapeseed imports in 2020/21 had reached 5.80 million tonnes, compared with 5.39 million a year ago.
Soymeal imports so far in 2020/21 were at 14.85 million tonnes against 15.84 million a year earlier, while palm oil imports were at 4.61 million tonnes versus 5.07 million a year ago.

PARIS (Reuters) - French utility EDF on Wednesday said that increased first-quarter earnings gives an indication that the company is on track to maintain its financial targets in 2021 and its 2022 ambitions.
First-quarter earnings increased 6% year on year in 2021 to 21.9 billion euros ($26.57 billion) as sales increased due to better electricity and gas prices and tariff indexations, the company said.
EDF set a target for 2021 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of above the 17 billion euros and confirmed a 2021 nuclear output target in France of 330-360 terawatt hours (TWh).
They added that increased outages are expected this year due to the reactor maintenance schedule, keeping the estimation low.

French wheat shipments outside EU at nine-year low in April
French soft wheat shipments outside the European Union last month were the lowest for an April in nine years, as exports to Morocco and Algeria eased, Refinitiv data showed.
Soft wheat exports to destinations outside the EU-27 and Britain totalled 665,600 tonnes in April, the 10th month of the 2020/21 season, an initial estimate based on Refinitiv loading data showed.
That was the lowest April volume since 2011/12, the data showed.
Last month’s haul was also more than a quarter less than March’s 908,400 tonnes. The March figure was revised down from an initial estimate, but was still a season high.
