Dunsmuir s Mott Airport has been revived just in time to stage aircraft for Lava Fire fight

Many dignitaries involved with the $3.2 million Mott Airport project in Dunsmuir gathered June 23 for a ribbon cutting ceremony of the airport s newly rehabilitated runway – just in time for the space to be utilized by firefighters battling the nearby Lava Fire.
The project has been in the works for six years.
Dunsmuir Councilman Bruce Deutsch, who headed up the effort because of his background with the federal government, said that this is a critical airport for safety reasons and central for fire fighting and tourism.

Cliff Bentz (R-Ore.) chaired the House Natural Resources Committee Republican Forum on Catastrophic Drought on Wednesday in his continuing effort to address the ongoing water crisis in the American West. He was joined by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.).

REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Airport is about to get a windfall as Congressman Doug LaMalfa, a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, announced a $1,017,542 Federal Aviation Administration grant award to the Redding Municipal Airport.
The grant provides economic relief funds for costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, and debt service payments at the airport.
“This FAA funding grant will provide much-needed funding to the Redding Municipal Airport for the many operational changes it has made during the past year, LaMalfa said. We need the airport to continue its valuable service to North State residents and visitors.”
