House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday penned a letter to her Democratic colleagues calling for a 9/11-type commission to investigate the Jan. 6th riots on the Capitol. According to Pelosi, it s imperative to learn about what took place and whether or not the state and local governments were prepared before the attack.

Dear Democratic Colleague,
Today, we celebrate the birthdays of America’s two greatest presidents: George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

House impeachment lead Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) on Saturday pushed for the Senate to call for witnesses. He said it was important to hear from Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA).
Raskin pointed to breaking news that occurred late Friday night. Attention was called to Herrera Beutler s conversation with McCarthy, where the minority leader allegedly recounted a conversation he had with President Trump. According to Herrera Beutler, McCarthy allegedly told Trump to call off the riots at the Capitol. The president allegedly said it wasn t his supporters who caused the chaos and violence at the Capitol.

On the last day of the trial of President Trump, the lead prosecutor for the House, Congressman Jamie Raskin, made an unexpected move. He announced that he wanted to call a witness. The gambit panicked the Senate it could have precipitated a raft of witnesses and the prosecution backed down. It happens, though, that there was a witness from whom we would have liked to hear.
This struck us part way through the trial, as we were surfing the news stories on the Web and paused at a wide-angle photograph of the crowd that had found perch on the Capitol front. The protesters were carrying all sorts of flags, most of them American. Suddenly, we noticed one flag waving high on a long pole the yellow banner with three red stripes that is the flag of Free Vietnam.
