(WVIR) - One Albemarle High School student is stepping up to the plate after dealing with her own challenges and seeing others struggle with mental health during the pandemic. Sophomore Anna Rosner developed a new award-winning app called “Feel Better” which aims to help teens focus on the positive. “It just brings positivity, even if the day wasn’t so good, it’s something that made it a little bit better,” Rosner said.

Shrewsbury High School students win Congressional App Challenge Community Content Two Shrewsbury High School students have won the 2020 Congressional App Challenge from Massachusetts’ Second Congressional District, Rep. James P. McGovern recently announced.   Mahathi Gopinathan and Helen Liu created the Kindness Calendar app, which assigns users one kind thing to do on a daily basis. The coronavirus pandemic has negatively impacted the mental health of millions of Americans. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 53% of adults in the U.S. reported that their mental health has been negatively impacted due to worry and stress over the coronavirus. Mahathi and Helen created the Kindness Calendar in hopes of increasing positivity in others’ lives.
