Crime reports for Dec 17, 2020

Charges • Leslie Sloan Williams, 41, of Moultrie was charged with aggravated assault and possession of firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes on Dec. 16. • Michael Lee Benson, 32, of Sparks was charged with obtaining/procuring/giving inmate tobacco without authorization on Dec. 15.  • Ashley Elarie Boyd, 29, of Moultrie was charged with DUI, criminal damage to property (second degree) and felony theft by taking (car) on Dec. 14. Incidents • On Dec. 14, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Publix parking lot in Moultrie in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle. A complainant stated he parked the car at the far end of the lot Dec. 13 after a belt broke. After replacing the belt the next day, he learned the catalytic converter underneath had been cut off and removed. The deputy reported seeing the area of the exhaust system where the converter should have been and that it had been cut off.

(WALB) - It was a very good day for the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office as they set out Monday to deliver all donations made to their “Jingle Ball” drive. Law enforcement officers, along with student athletes, were out in the community delivering balls to children for Christmas. The sheriff’s office sent a big thank you to all those who donated.

Charges • Jeffery Jerome Golden, 55, of Tallahassee, Fla., was charged with probation violation on Dec. 19. • Remya Howard, 21, of Thomasville was charged with speeding and driving while license withdrawn on Dec. 18. • Ashley Marie Gudino, 30, of Moultrie was charged with cruelty to children (second degree) on Dec. 18. • Jimmy Lee Owens, 60, was charged with two counts of possession of schedule II with intent to distribute (hydromorphane hydrochloride and oxycodone hydrochloride) on Dec. 18. Incidents • On Dec. 20, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Dennis Powell Lane, where a complainant stated he noticed damage to his vehicle, that there were holes in the roof and the rear antenna was missing. The complainant also reported hearing gunshot sounds the night before but did not check on the source. The incident report states the responding deputy found three 9mm casings in the area of the vehicle.

Charges • Jonathan James Penton, 37, of Moultrie was charged with probation violation on Dec. 17. • Carl Ashley Thompson, 36, of Tifton was charged with probation violation on Dec. 17. • Joshua Craig Folson, 30, of Moultrie was charged with possession of drugs/weapons by inmate on Dec. 17. Moultrie Police Charges • On Dec. 17, Jonathan Paul Christopher Weldon, 40, of Moultrie was booked under seven bench warrants for contempt of court (for not attending court). • Tamisha LaShae Bailey, 29, of Moultrie was charged with criminal trespass on Dec. 17. Incidents • On Dec. 17, Moultrie Police was advised about damage to a vehicle while it was parked at a Veterans Parkway business. A complainant stated she noticed some wire was taken loose at the bottom of her vehicle, and that she was advised by a mechanic it looked like an attempt to take the catalytic converter out.

By Matthew Brown | matthew.brown@gaflnews.com Dec 17, 2020 Dec 17, 2020 NORMAN PARK, Ga. – A Norman Park man was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery – both under family violence conditions – after a woman was set on fire inside a Yates Mulkey Road residence early Wednesday morning. According to Investigator Ronald Jordan of the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office, the two were arguing over who drank the last beer when the fight ensued. The victim, a 44-year-old Norman Park woman, suffered second-degree burns on her back and was transported to Colquitt Regional Medical Center. She was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
