Keyshawn Williams, 17, was booked with one count of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Vontre Phillips in August 2020. Williams was arrested in Crowley by U.S. Marshals last week, Crowley Police say. At the same time, Wesley Yokum Jr., 18, also was arrested and on a warrant for first-degree murder in Phillips murder. Yokum also is accused of five counts attempted second-degree murder in connection with a July 2020 shooting in the Westwood Subdivision, Crowley Police say.

(KPLC) - Crowley police say they found loaded guns and drugs in a car with four children as they responded to an overdose call Saturday. When officers arrived, members of the Crowley Fire Department were providing medical attention to the man. Officers received permission to enter the vehicle from the man’s wife, who told them there were loaded firearms in the vehicle and that drugs were in the cup holder, according to information from the Crowley Police Department. Officers learned the man had received illegal drugs from someone outside the city limits of Crowley.

Police in Louisiana had to take away a loaded AK-47 from a young child in the back seat of a car as his father overdosed in the front seat. It happened in a Dairy Queen parking lot in Crowley.  Officers were granted permission to enter the vehicle from the man s wife, who stated the narcotics were in the cup holder and there is also loaded firearms in the vehicle. There were also 4 children in the car in reach of the drugs and weapons.
